<![CDATA[ Undercover Quilters - Gotcha Covered!]]>Fri, 18 May 2012 04:45:11 -0500Weebly<![CDATA[Quilting With Friends]]>Tue, 17 Jan 2012 20:54:01 -0500http://undercoverquilters.com/1/post/2012/01/quilting-with-friends1.html<![CDATA[Quilting With Friends]]>Tue, 17 Jan 2012 20:53:57 -0500http://undercoverquilters.com/1/post/2012/01/quilting-with-friends.htmlLast night I got back from a weekend spent in the Poconos with my quilting buddies. We always go up with different plans for what we will be working on. This time the list included class samples, pillowcases, a partly done throw, a wedding quilt and a Thanksgiving wall hanging (Timely 'R Us!) Sometimes we work on our own projects, often we work together on someone else's. Sometimes we accomplish our goals, sometimes we don't. But what counts is the interaction, stimulation and encouragement we get from one another. I'm convinced that the happiest, most productive quilters are the ones who have buddies as a major assist. Who do you quilt with? Seriously, we would love to hear your quilting buddy stories. And if you don't have buddies, let Undecover help you get some. Join a bee, come to a retreat, join a committee, work on the next show (Yes, we're starting already.) That's why we're a guild. Use us for all we're worth.

<![CDATA[Text Size]]>Fri, 13 Jan 2012 20:01:00 -0500http://undercoverquilters.com/1/post/2012/01/text-size.htmlI've tried to make the text in the blog bigger. Is this easier to read? ]]><![CDATA[How to Blog]]>Tue, 10 Jan 2012 22:24:16 -0500http://undercoverquilters.com/1/post/2012/01/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit3.htmlThanks for all the wonderful feedback! I love that people are jumping in and trying this out!

Let me do a quick summary of how to comment on a post. Right now, Leslie and I are the only people who can write posts. A post starts a blog conversation, so to speak. After the post starts the conversational ball rolling, other people can comment on the post. To do this, click on the word Comment/s either above the post, (to the right of the title of the post, if there is one,) or below the post. If others have already submitted comments, they will appear. Scroll to the end of the comments and you will see a form that says 'Leave a Reply'. This is where you type in your comment. You need to type in your name, but you do not have to leave your full name, or even initials will. Just something needs to be in that space. Fill in your email address although it will not appear when the comment is published. You can ignore the website line. Then hit the Submit button. Voila! You've done it! Now others can read the post, then hit the Comments link and read what you've written. Once we have more than one post, as we do now, you can choose which one you want to comment on. You can go back and comment on an earlier post; you do not have to comment on only the most recent post. If an older post, and its comments, are a topic that interests you, you can continue to follow that thread of the conversation. If you want to, you can add another comment, commenting on someone else's comment, just like in a verbal conversation. As I do the housekeeping on the blog, if I see something come in that deserves to be its own post because it has wider relevence than its conversational thread, I'll take it and move it. I'm going to do that as soon as I'm done with this post because one of our last comments asked for help and I want to get that out where more people might see it.

<![CDATA[Post Title.]]>Tue, 10 Jan 2012 22:11:32 -0500http://undercoverquilters.com/1/post/2012/01/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit1.htmlThis comment came in from Carol P. and I'm putting it out as a separate post so that it is sure to be seen by the person who can help her out. Watch for the response, as others might like the same information. (Is this cool or what!!!!)

"This is my first time trying a blog. I really admired Carol C's quilt last night and the stitching that she used to quilt it. I know you used a fancy thread which I am not interested in using on this baby quilt I am working on, but I thought the squiggly lines would be fun to try. I am a beginner quilter and can use a tip or two. Can you tell me how you did that? Thanks."

<![CDATA[Modern?]]>Mon, 09 Jan 2012 22:17:23 -0500http://undercoverquilters.com/1/post/2012/01/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit.htmlSo talk to us about "Modern" quilting. I am getting the urge to try large open spaces, simple geometrics, fun bright new colors.... What's this new movement all about? Wondering if it would be a good Dare to Bee project

<![CDATA[Hello!]]>Sat, 07 Jan 2012 19:41:54 -0500http://undercoverquilters.com/1/post/2012/01/first-post.htmlWe have a blog!
I'm really hoping that this becomes a way for us to connect, share thoughts, stories, ideas, and excitement about quilting. Because I have known so many of you so well and for so long, I know that quilting plays a whole host of roles in your lives (and mine too). It is our abiding interest, a means of self-expression, a form of exploration, a form of challenge, a form of acheivement, a way to express compassion, caring and love, a simple pleasure, a way to connect with others, a form of escape, a way to relax, a way to mark our milestones, a way to personalize our homes......the list can go on and on. And I can't really think of too many other things that cover all those bases. (Cooking and gardening, maybe?) How utterly cool is that????
I'll be posting more as things flit through my head. But I really want to see what flits through your heads too! When you submit a post, it will come to me (hopefully...if I've set this thing up right!) and I'll see that your contribution gets here. So jot down a few thoughts, it doesn't have to be profound, it just has to be us!
Stacy
